The Wave

I started out in Redding today, rainy and still cold. By Stockton it warmed up a little.

Most of the time when I am riding and another guy on a bike gives me the wave it just annoys me. Manley the annoyance comes when the weather gets nice and everyone takes their bike out of the garage, they all get so excited to be out and are waiving at each other.
Today it was different though, every few hours I would see another bike way off in the distance, slowly getting closer. Looking out across the wet pavement through the rain, I was sure that guy was just as cold and miserable as I was, and he had to be going some distance since there is nothing for miles in either direction. Looking across the median you stretch your arm out extending your first and second fingers. Nice, a little human interaction.


I made to Santa Clarita this evening and am having dinner at my grandmothers house.
